I added the E before the walls were put on the footing. There's no way the house was going up with that still there I would still be hearing about it ( so how's Jan today) or Greg keeps his girl friend Jan down stairs.

The forms go up the forms come down. The date is Aug. 22

I told you how Jane was having some back pain during all this work. Well she went and saw her Dr. and had some xrays taken. They found what they called dark spots on her pancreas so ordered a MRI. A few days latter we are in Boston at Mass General having a biopsy done.

The news was not good so the next meeting is with the best pancreatic cancer Dr in the US. He goes over all the options, there are none hopefully it is still in the tail section only and he may be able to remove that part of her pancreas. Jane and I are sitting there looking at each other not knowing what to say. You can remove part of your pancreas and still live?

So now we need to set up a date for the operation he wants to do it in the next week or two as there is no waiting on this. Jane says no way how long can she put this off? The Dr looks at her and says why would you want to wait we need to do this now. Jane looks back at me and asks how long it will take me to get the house done and her moved in. It's now the end of Aug. The Dr. asks me the same question so I figure out a time able there in his office and come up with the end of Oct.

He says that is to long but Jane tells me she wants to live in the new home before the operation in case this does not work out. So the date is set for the second week of Nov.

Now the walls are done and I have sealed them Steve back fills them and gets the site ready for lumber.

Here Jane is a day or two after the news showing our daughter the way the walkout will look. See the Holy tree behind her in the picture at the patio door opening. That will become a island garden in the future we hope.

Wow, that must have been tough going back to work and facing the new health problems. I imagine it's hard enough to deal with the pressure of building a house, let alone meeting a deadline for the wife's operation! I'm just glad to know there is already a happy ending to this thread :D

Yes a very very happy ending. I lost 30lbs in the two months from Sept. to the end of Oct. But now looking back both Jane and I thank god we had this project going at this time. Jane like most wives worries about every thing and having the house to deal with she focused her worries on that and kept her mind off the health issue as much as possible .

Now the garage is back filled and here comes the lumber and a crew of one of my customers to build the house for us. As I am the GC on the job he would only let us pay his crew for the hours on the job. They framed, put the windows in and roofed the house for $5000.00 in 7 days. :)
