Not only has Japan Banned GMO crops, but all of Europe and Mexico as well. The science and research coming out of Europe is 'Dramatic Cancer increases and sterility' , but these studies have been Banned here in this country by Monsanto.
For A nation banking on leading the world in patented Biotech crops ...It seems capitalistic greed has shot it's self in the foot big time ! I suspect this could be the reason the stock market is declining so rapidly of late.

On the other hand if you have a food emergency and GMO foods are the only ones available..... would a nation rather starve or have their politicians grant an 'emergency waiver'? Once the cat is out of the bag...... Nations banning GMO might be more about gene transfer to their crops than food safety.

Cracks me up that mexico bans anything :laughing: last I heard they still used ddt and several other known carcinogens and we couldn't even stop them from bringing across the border some nafta bs or something. I say let them all get china wheat and corn that's some real good food from there no mercury or anything in that stuff.

Sadly that's true...The Pandora's Box was opened. We now need a paradigm shift and to learn from our short sighted solely profit motive interest and to get back to a sustainable model of agriculture. Foreign Aid used to buy our Ag Comodities only benefits a few and does nothing to solve the population growth in the 3rd world.
Borlaug, Norman (Ernest) (1914 M, US, TECHNOLOGY: agronomist) ... credited with saving hundreds of millions of lives by developing disease- resistant wheat, even in his final days finaly agreed with Paul R. Ehrlich 'The Population Bomb' and admitted feeding the whole world without education about population control woud only take the misery to a higher level!

The USDA is a little concerned about that mystery GM wheat found growing in that Oregon farm field.

Wonder if its in a hot dog bun right now!

The courts have sided with Monsanto over 'genetic trespass' so no roadblock to letting their genetics contaminate the whole seed supply. Then they get to sue everyone for royalties.

I think mexico is capable of growing all the natural heirloom corn they need . What probably worries them is when unmarked sacks of corn (NON GMO) arrives from the US as a subsidy? - gets planted and low and behold ends up being GMO which cross contaminates the natural corn
