What if the dealer won't or can't fix a problem?

Get a mechanics stethoscope, (very cheap) & very handy...
With just a few min probing around you will find exactly what is causing the sound.... then have them replace That component... KennyV

This goes to my point about the dealer. Why didn't they do this. A professional shop should have been able to diagnose this and fixed it in no time. Warranty fix, Kubota reimburses them, customer is happy - not complaining about them on an internet forum.

Hmmm, what happens if you pull the PTO shaft that powers the mower deck and turn on the PTO? That would let you isolate the problem to the transmission or the deck. Sounds almost like a dry bearing on one of the idler pullies to me...

Sounds like my mower from new. Nothing out of the ordinary.

There is an extra high pitched whine that starts when the deck turns on (at ~0:35) in addition to the normal deck noise. Not there on our BX2660, B7500 or the BX2200 that we tested before we got the BX2660.

I hear that high pinched, hydraulic-y whine.. but it sure sounds like mine. If I get out on the tractor tomorrow Ill double check if it is really there or a figment of my imagination
