Monogamy.......

I wasn't thinking of us old fart types that are pretty well set or at least have a serious leg up. I was wondering about the folks just getting started with home, family, careers, etc. They would be the ones to really benefit from the extra help, course with modern sensibilities nothing says it wouldn't be a wife with two husbands or who knows what combo!

Just imagine a room full of wimmins, all married to you, each one trying to out talk or talk over the other one.

If that is the way the species must go for survival I will soon as join the ranks of the Dodo bird.

My one sweet little blonde headed full time night woman is plenty for me.

The alternative to monogamy would be polygamy??? HMMM......My thoughts immediately go to two or more women conspiring together and agreeing on what I should be doing and what I could be doing better. They could wear us all down through attrition. It is a scary thing for a man to consider.

I wish I hadn't read this just before heading off to bed, I might have nightmares....

From:
Glynn Wolfe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glynn Wolfe aka Scotty Wolfe (July 25, 1908 June 10, 1997) was a Baptist minister who resided in Blythe, California. He was famous for holding the record for the largest number of monogamous marriages (29). His shortest marriage lasted 19 days, and his longest lasted eleven years.

Been to Blythe many times.....always over 100 degrees there. I think the sun must have gotten to old Scotty......he should have worn a hat. 29 marriages......Scotty must be a very slow learner....:confused2:

So what if monogamy is not common in nature. How much of society is based on other "un-natural" things? Few animals use tools to any extent, and none to the extent that humans do. Preparing food and combining ingredients to make a meal is also a rarity among the animal kingdom. Wearing clothes, complex speech, humor, and any number of other factors are rare if not absent in other animals.

Admitedly there are huge biological pressures that make monogamy a challenge. There are also huge pressures to steal and kill, but I don't see any articles advocating tolerance toward theft and murder.

That article presents a lot of accurate facts and solid correlations, but it all seems to be predicated on the assumption that what is construed as natural should be permitted. I dispute that assumption.

Tractors are not natural. I'll give up living in a cave and dragging multiple women home by their hair in order to keep my tractor.
