Or just buy the lubricants and filters from Kubota as I do and not worry about it.

I agree as far as trying to save some money by getting an oil that is supposed to be comparable but if I can save money and still be buying the exact same oil with a different label on the bucket I'm all over it.

I buy filters from Kubota but use a high quality name brand oil.

I dont think kubota makes a syn. Motor oil. I can tell u this kub oil is made with IV base stocks and the shell rotella t is made with base two. The cub oil is clearer and smells sweeter. For what ever that means.

Try it on some waffles in the morning and let us know which is better.

Well I started poking around wondering about oil for my tractor. I got to wondering who makes kub oil. I looked up the msds and looks like ashland makes kub. Branded oil. The part number matches the jug I have left over from the first oil change. 10001

Let me know if the link works or not if not ill try again. Doing this from my phone.

as tractor operator & maintenance man, what value is there in your knowing who makes K name brand oil now or over time? is it the comfort of knowing the manu. is name brand? would you chose K oil on the basis of who makes it? really isn't this basically an academic question with little application, or will it change your maintenance behavior? just asking.....& have an independence day blast!!! am sure it's well deserved. :) good luck

Thanks for posting the MSDS. Ashland also makes NAPA's oil and of course Valvoline. I use I Valvoline engine oil in both of the Kubotas.

Ashland not only blends their engine oils but they also blend the Super UDT as well. The engine oil is similar if not the same as the product they blend for NAPA. The $9.99 a gallon 15w40 NAPA has turned in great UOA and is on sale now.
