SOLD Kioti CK20 HST Purchased CK3510SE HST
Was digging on tank yesterday and the joystick made a popping noise and flopped freely in my hand, the loader was stuck in down position so I could not make it out of the tank bottom.
I remembered when I bought the tractor the kid showed me the pivots that he had to replace one because he broke it getting off the tractor (said he caught shorts in it while jumping off and broke the pivot). So I took off the rubber dust cover and sure enough there was the problem, one of the pivot ball heads had slipped past the slot it rides in, seems the Teflon wore to the point it had a flat spot that allowed it to slip past.
So question is has anyone modified this to get rid of the poor design of the joystick pivot points?
Was thinking of finding some better axial ball and sockets and making something a little stronger.

Companies like McMaster Carr, motion Industries, etc. sell tie rod ends. You would have to look at what you have and see if they offer replacement items that are solid steel.

Just saw old post about a kit to fix this, seems it is a common problem, great, still looking into doing something different though.
Anyone know what the kit number is?

Exactly, something along that line is what I had in mind.

The kit you need is called a cimantic kit. Sorry I don't know the part number. The new version is all made of steel. If you do a search of posts, you'll find pictures where a member changed his after the original nylon one broke. If you call a dealer, they'll know exactly what the part is and probably have it in stock.

I am sorry. you must have missed the post about already reading about the kits on the site through a search.
Calling my dealer is like calling India for tech support, not a pretty sight.
In the thread it gives a 26001-0090 as the part number for the larger Kioti's, someone did ask as to the CK20 kit but no one gave much of a answer, I did a parts search on MI and it list the parts as individual parts part #36001-0170 and indicates this is a new number, but they are a lot more than the $30 kits that were mentioned ($16.56 each), in fact about twice that.
If I use the #26001-0090 it finds a kit but not for the CK20.
Several people expressed a concern about metal on metal, as in harder metal of the swivels against the aluminum part they fit in, to bad they didn't do a microsleeve to help out.
If worst comes to worst I will just do a build up weld and grind down to mimic the steel pivots.

Why don't you call MI ask them I hear they are great to deal with. You should get the right answer too.

Sorry, I should pay more attention to your entire post. When all the members were having the problem, I picked up the cimantic kit while ordering some filters just to have on hand thinking mine would go but the original is still good. I checked the part number on the bag and it is 26001-0900 like you posted. That is what fits my CK30hst. I would think, being only one size up, that it would be the same control. If I remember right, it was @$35 about two years ago. As ozley posted, Michigan Iron are nice people to deal with. Robert works in the parts dept and is very knowledgeable. I'd try giving them a call and they could tell you if there is a new part number and more importantly the cost.

I broke down and called the dealer here and after 45 minutes he finally got to the part, I gave him the 26001-0090 part number and he said it fits the CK20, cost from them is $58 plus $10 s&h and tax, so I am going to look for other avenues of repair and see which cost less.
MI I think has the kit for $45 and change plus s&h.
Will report back as to what I find out or come up with if different than the kit.
I would do the $35.
