Industrial bakery... mmmm I'll bet that smells good sometimes! :licking:
We used to have two bread factories here. I remember the smell at night. Man that was nice.

We primarily manufacture crackers (saltines, snackers, grahams, cheese and wheat, etc) but do a few cookies. Usually, the amalgam of the smell is better than any on product. However, there are times when we make garlic saltines or vegetable snackers that the smell is just atrocious...

I sold gold at 1200 and was surprised it ran up as high as it did. The way I saw it was if it gets bad enough to need gold I'd rather have ammo. I'll go on enjoying my life without gold.

Well ,If anyone actually read my previous post I was talking about the difference in the generations "I grew up in a time "Seems anytime I post anything Mossy just assumes I'm posting to or about him ,I never used his name and wouldn't . I would think some got my post as intended and some others think they need to defend themselves for some reason . Anything I post is my own personal opinion and take it at that ! You don't have to like it or respond to it ! This is an open forum .

No empirical evidence to back it up, just my impressions: Gold is like any other product sold by suits on Wall Street or Chicago-just another device to relieve the retail investor of the contents of his coin purse.

I think that's about right but government can short it, declare it illegal and otherwise manipulate it just like the suits on Wall St. or in Chgo. do....Yes ?

The run up on gold was never really in line with the economic fundamentals. A fair amount of it seems driven by paranoid apocalyptic thinking, rather than a logical assessment of the economics.

Not impressed by Bass either. He sounds just like Peter Schiff, another economist/investor who "predicted" the housing crash as his claim to brilliance (although everyone really knew it was bubble bound to pop to some degree) and has been crying hyperinflation ever since. Also predicted Europe would "decouple" from the US and the economy there would prosper. Another terribly wrong prediction.

Hyperinflation is not coming. If anything inflation needs to be a few ticks higher. We seem right on track to repeat Japan of the 1990s to today.
Low growth, low interest %, low inflation/borderline deflation, and massive debt with no movement to breaking out of the cycle.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
