Best Spray on Bed liner

My GMC 2500 duramx has a Rhini-liner beg and rail coating. Had it installed just after purchase of truck In 2007. Faded a little( no cover of any kind or garage). When one year old had new quarter panel and bed repaired after my then 17 year old daughter "customized" it while parked in my driveway with her Jeep! After the bed repairs were done, the Rhino-Liner dealer resprayed the "new" areas of the bed and it matches perfectly to this day, many loads and 157,000 miles later. Despite outboard engines, boat gear, power tools and tractor attachments bed still looks great!

A word of caution however. KNow the dealer and see their finished product before you buy. There can be an enormous variation in the thickness and quality of the application based on who does the work. There is no comparison between my neighbors brand new Sierra and my 2007. His rhino-liner is thin with little texture compared to mine!

This holds true for Linex as well as Rhino liner. I think both are excellent products, but the installer determines the quality of the job.

+1 installer makes all the difference. Mine even asked how much texture I wanted and showed me how he did it.

Mine is color matched LineX to my blue '06 Tundra, I have a bed cover but no fading or damage and it has been used on everything from concrete blocks to boat engines. I also have my bumpers and side steps done and they look the same as they did at install.

Agreed. Quality is a function of the skill of the installer in this case. Since this type of work I rarely need. I farm it out to a professional. Could I do it... yes. We think we can do everything and generally we can. In this case, a redo isn't really an option so get it done right the first time.

Line-x gets my vote, had an f250 with rhino faded badly and was easily cut. I went with line-x and they're uv protection package. I like it a lot better than the rhino for all the reasons others mentioned.

Line-x for 3 years in the Ram bed.. Good and thick and never chipped. I'd do it again, best 500 I ever spent.

Thanks for all the replies.

I had 2 trucks in today with spray in bed liners. One was a 03 Dakota with Linex and the other was a 13 F-150 with Rhino. The linex did not look like it has faded much. The truck is kept inside a garage. I don't think the guy hauls much in it other than trash or something once in a while for a home improvement project. They did spray a few bolts on the tailgate. There was not any chipping. The F-150 has 10k miles on it. It probably has hauled more than the Dakota already. They took all the bolts out of the tailgate, the truck does not have a tailgate step. The Rhino liner is already chipping in a few places. I don't know if it is abuse or normal for Rhino.

I tried testing them to see what was the most skid resistant. I took a milk crate with 2 water jugs full of water and hooked a fish scale to it. It looked like they both took the same amount to get the crate to slide but once the crate was sliding I think it slid easier on the linex. I wanted to mess with it more but I did not have the time. The guy came and picked up the Dakota already. He would have thought i was crazy if he would have seen me doing this:laughing:

Right now it is sounding like Linex may be the best way to go

Has anyone heard of apollo bed liners? They called me a few times but I never answered and they never left a message. I guess they wanted me to become a dealer.

Well I think I linex is the way to go after seeing this truck. The linex never cracked with the abuse.

A tractor loader with a bale spear has been lowered on both sides of the truck.

The truck is a 08 Silverado 2500 with 12,000 on it:laughing:

I have 50,000+ miles on my F150 with Linex installed day one after buying... looks rather new if I wash it. I have hauled dirt, rocks, firewood, rough lumber, crab pots (saltwater stuff), heavy furniture, implements, whatever and never torn or ripped it. The Linex will not keep things from sliding around but it has more grip than a plain bed. If it gripped too much, it would make sliding things in and out a bigger hassle. Obviously just secure your load. Again, I am a big fan of Linex! If you are hesitating... don't.

We have Linex applied in our 2012 Silverado going on almost a year now and have zero complaints. The UV protectant was added and so far have not noticed any fading. Linex gets my vote.

My 08 Titan has factory sprayed in liner. All Nissans 2003 and later have it. Noy sure why they are the only ones doing it factory? Seems like a no brainer to me. They also put in a rail system with movable tie down points. Another smart idea.

Anyways, 72,000 miles and it still looks great.
