I picked up my new Wildkat Attachments 48" mini rock grapple at my local freight terminal on Friday afternoon and installed it on my new LS 4041H tractor today. I bought the 3/8 hoses and fittings from Tractor Supply this morning and had it all finished by about 7:30 this evening. Running the hose from the rear remotes to the front took 13 feet of hose x 2. I used 90 degree angle fittings on the connectors for the rear remotes. This made the setup fit tight against the rear and out of the way for the 3 point lift arms. Can't wait to start using it around the homestead.:dance1:

Very nice. would you mind giving a review as soon as you get a chance to use it? I'm especially interested in how well it handles moving things like brush, logs, etc... in addition to rocks and boulders.

I like the heavy duty digging edge with the teeth, looks like it would come in handy breaking up some hard ground.

Price?

The grapple is listed at $900 on WildKat's web site, but I got a discount for purchasing a set of pallet forks from them at the same time...my cost was $850 plus shipping.

When you run the grapple's hydraulic cylinder off the rear remotes like that, do you use the lever (for that set of remotes) to open and close the grapple? I.e., instead of having a a rocker switch on the loader handle?

Yes you use the lever for the remotes. They are manually operated when using a rocker switch they are electrical operated solenoid

Not saying the electric over hydraulic is a not good way to go, but there is one slight advantage to the remote lever control. You can "feather" the hydraulic valve, to adjust grip strength. The electric over hydraulic is all or nothing. If your flow rate is low enough, you might be able to adjust the grip strength a bit by the dwell time of the switch contacts though. I don't think this is a big deal, but then again I don't really have enough experience with a grapple to know yet. I have had tractors with FEL's for over 20 years, but I am a grapple newbie.

I'll give a review of this grapple setup as soon as I get a chance to use it...it's been too hot down here in Texas to do much work on my place this summer.
