Sae 30 desiel oil in small gas engines??

Is it ok to run sae 30 for Desiel engines in gas engines that call for sae 30?? I was guessing it was ok. Big box store man seemed to agree. Thx

The Kohler engine oils are also diesel rated, so there shouldn't be any problems with running diesel rated oil in a gas engine.

Run Rotella 30 weight in my B&S mower and tiller engines for several years. None have ever blown up yet.

Main difference between diesel rated oils and gasoline rated oils is ability to hold soot. So, using a diesel rated oil in gasoline engines is fine. Could even use a gasoline rated oil in a newer diesel for a shorter-than-recommended change period.

A lot of oils have both a "C" rating for diesels and an "S" rating for gas engines. Read the label.
