Dave, if I can chime in a little, one thing to keep in mind with Bush Hog is you can still get parts for most models that are 20 to 30 years old.
That's why I went with BH brand, and I suspect they will have parts for my 297 long down the road. By the way my 297 has the single tailwheel and it works great behind my M7040. I too was concerned about the single tailwheel when I first bought it but now that is laid to rest.

I'm not sure about the 297, but I believe the BH27 is quick hitch compatible. It may be one of the minor differences. I'm excited for you! Way to go on the orange split fire as well, you'll be the only one! :thumbsup:

Thanks Piston i believe both are QH compatible i did notice that the new BH27 is CAT2/3 versus CAT 1/2 of the 297.

I'd love a CAT 2 QH just wish they were not like $700
