From looking at the pics in the manual - best guess it is underneath the platform?

As I started my 50hr service - changed the fuel filter in the engine compartment, changed the engine oil/filter - without removing MMM...
front axle to follow....

I have to remove the MMM (and bagger) for tranny oil/filter - will I see the remaining fuel filter once the deck is removed...?

Any help is appreciated...

Yes, you can't miss it. I think its the brass cylinder in this picture, though I've never changed mine. I knew this picture would come in handy!

SingleCoil - do I dare ask how you got this pic :)

Although it would make servicing the filter that much easier...

When life hands you lemons....:D

There is a thread on here titled "BX vs. 36" x 42" x 510 foot ditch" that describes how that one went over.

Singlecoil, thats a mighty fine public announcement type pic of the underside of a BX, and I know the story. :D

As been said the 1st fuel filter (starting from the tank going forward) is under the skidplate. The brass device is the electric fuel pump.

The way Kubota did the filters is a filter "before" the fuel pump and another filter "after" the elec fuel filter and "before" the fuel injector pump in the engine compartment. This way the fuel is filtered before it gets to the electric fuel pump to protect it and the fuel is again filtered before it gets to the injector pump. This 2nd filter is insurance incase the electric fuel pump fails and it's debris doesn't get into and damage the fuel infector pump. It's actually a pretty thorough fuel system potection scheme.

The fuel injector pump is the most precise and expensive device to repair on a diesel engine (sans major internal repair) so keeping it clean and trouble free is paramount :D

Hello,

I bought a BX2350 '07 model about 4 months ago and love it! The problem I am having is it will run for about an hour and then it will cough, spit and puke for a bit and then take off. I figure it is the fuel filter but now I don't know which one. The filter that they gave me only has a screen on it and no pleats on the inside of the filter. They had the exact same filter but had the pleats on the inside which is the one I got. Which filter do I need to change. It has 267hrs on it now.

Thanks

The first filter is the one most likely to plug up. I had that happen at 300 hrs. Plugged solid with black gunk. Never priced the Kubota ones but NAPA probably has them cheaper. I but the metal case ones (3032) as they are more resistant to damage. My fleet price is $4.08. Probably the cheapest replacement maint item. Like was said before that injector pump is big bucks. I change both every time I change oil. I moved the engine compartment one down under so it is now easy to change.
