Steel suppliers in northeast MA / southern NH area?

I did get a quote from them, but didn't compare to anywhere else because they are the only ones in my area that I even know about.


The following thickness' of a 4'x8' sheet of plate steel are what I have prices on, as well as some 24' lengths of square tubing....

3/8" $250

1/2" $330

I did get 3/4" as well but can't find the price right now, let me know if you want me to find that one.

That's fine - I was more wondering what the price range was - what you posted gives me a good idea.

I'd be happy to mail it for free...absolutely FREE! I'll only charge a small "handling" fee which may coincidentally happen to possibly be right around one thousand dollars more than the average cost to ship your steel, if you weren't getting it for "free"

You can buy scrap at a place in Haverhill. I forget the name though. Haverhill Salvage??? Check the yellow pages. They're on a side street off Rt 97 where the RR tracks cross near Lafeyette Sq.

That's good to know, I've often wondered if there are any scrap yards near us.

There is a steel supplier in downtown Manchester NH. I don't remember their name but they are good to deal with and I found the prices were reasonable. They are not too far off the end of South Willow.

Boston Steelworks at 13 Joy St, Somerville (right behind Chambers Mercedes) is a small custom metal working shop. I often stop in and buy either scrap or ask the owner to order stuff for me. He is very nice and often has what you need in stock or can get it the next morning. He can also do bends and other tasks that you might not have the machinery to do yourself at home.
