10 years on TBN

I've got to wait until next year for my 10.

Wondered about some of the members that helped me alot in my tractor search all those years ago that don't seem to be around anymore and some of the epic discussion we had... gear or hydro, TRC Grease, BX Seats, etc.

You forgot the synthetic debate!

TBN was first started with another name. Bird can tell you what that was, but I don't know. . . Kubota something???

Yep, I guess it was originally called "Kubotasource" and was only about Kubota tractors, but I think Kubota asked that the name be changed since "Kubota" is a copyrighted name. I got my first internet service (dial-up) on August 24, 1998, and had bought a Kubota B7100 HST on June 30, 1995, so I soon found TBN's original site. It was growing so fast, and expanding into what you see today. So those of us who joined before just show a 2000 date now.

Remember when Bird was a working for Fire Dept.

Actually was the Dallas Police Department. Joined March 23, 1964, and retired January 17, 1989. I used to think maybe that number 23 was a lucky number. I had started work for the Dallas Post Office on March 23, 1959 (yep, 5 years exactly), promoted to sergeant in the Police Department on October 23, 1968, lieutenant on January 23, 1970, but then broke with the pattern when I was promoted to captain on September 15, 1975.

Looks like it was ten years on here for me back in May, but I was on here lurking and learning all that I could for a few years before that.

Well, I'm an old enough member to remember Mark Chalkley and his Chalkley Cup (jug) with non-slip bottom and embedded magnet.:D I also remember huge Chalkley Tires and his EF-500 Earthforce tractor. We've had some real characters here and lots of helpful great guys who loved tractors.

And that Earthforce was after he'd done a great deal of interesting customization on the Kubota he'd had.
