Need a head for a JD 950, have looked all over the net with no luck, if anyone knows where one is avail i'd appreciate the lead

I always had good luck with Fawcett's Tractor Supply(not to be confused with the box store.) You can Google them. They're on the Canada side of Niagara Falls. They have an inventory of tractors online. I bet a dealer could get you one bit it'd be pricey...Good luck!

Gotta love that huh? Trouble with used is you may be getting the same thing you already have.. what's wrong with the current one? Is it warped or cracked?

Had it magni-fluxed and found 3 small cracks, you are right about buying a used one, could not see anything wrong with it til we had it fluxed

Yeah sometimes you'd never know you had a problem without magnefluxing.

If its from a reputable company, you should be ok, I guess my decision to go aftermarket or OEM would come down to how much I actually saved. IF you could source a used one, I'd be sure to have it checked before putting it on.

That's the trbl, I feel like if I order a used one and then have it checked and its bad its a lot of hassle returning or eating the thing, I've found a couple of aftermarkets for about half the price of one from the dealer, have just about decided to go that route, one sold on e-bay about 2 weeks ago for a little over 500., that was buy but that was 2 weeks ago.

Check with HOYE, they show they are out,but have some coming in in August. You could have it repaired.
