I just wanted to remind folks that the pre-season wood pellet sales are about to wind up. Coastal Farm has their pellets on sale for $199.50 a ton, Bear Mountain for $204.50/ton, and Goldenfire for $209.50/ton. Pellet stoves 10% off, and a free ton of pellets with each stove or insert. Your local stores should be running similar sales. Wait a month and you will be paying a premium for the same pellets.

Yep, I am just waiting for the ads to come out so I can get my winter stockpile. Anyone looked at Farmers Almanac or NOAA to see what the predictions of this coming winter are?

I pre-ordered my two tons last week from Orscheln, our local farm store. Oddly enough, I can usually get them cheaper than the pre-order sale price at Lowe's, but I pre-order to hedge my bets since I'm not required to pick up (or pay for) my pre-order.

I bought a US stove from TSC 2 years ago and it replaced a wood burner
I couldn't be happier
holds 120 lbs of pellets
have never had any problems with my auger getting clogged
cost was $1000 less my 20% off coupon $250 for the exhaust kit
I use about 1 1/2 tons of pellets and is far easier and cleaner than my wood burner was

My wife and daughter hate when it warms up outside and the heat pump gets turned back on and the thermostat is set on 68
The stove makes it so much warmer though-out the house (only place cooler in the house is the basement)

Around here Lowes is crazy expensive compared to the local farm and garden type place: farm store around $200 and Lowes usually around $295. Sometimes for the exact same brand.

Wow, Lowe's is usually $30 or so a ton less than the farm stores. If Lowe's is higher, they match the price and takes an additional 10% off.

Sure. Weather this winter: Dark, with lightening toward spring. Cold, dry air from the north, warm, wet air from the south, with heavy snow where they meet. It must be true, the Farmer's Almanac says it. :D

I always try to get my pellets in April. I paid $178 a ton plus delivery.
