Adding Remote Valves--Teeing into an existing pipe/tube. New method?

This is correct picture.

Adding rear remotes to Kubota B9200 and needed a way to tee into the return line which happens to be 3/4" (0.750") diameter. Drilled and bored a hole thru the 1 1/4" diameter aluminum shaft to slip fit over the tubing and then cut internal ORING groove at each end for 3/4x1 ORINGS. Stripped the paint from and polished a section of the tube. Cut a 3/4" length section out of the tube then chamfered and deburred the ends. Installed ORINGS and then slid tube ends into the aluminum sleeve.
I'll be the first to admit that given brazing skills, it would be neater to braze a tee into the tube. Comments welcome.
Edit: The ORING you see in the photo was placed against the ends of the aluminum sleeve to keep moisture out to prevent rusting the tube inside the aluminum sleeve.

One can not successfully "tee" into a line to add remote hyd's to an open center system such as your Kubota. The hyd valve must be in a series IE the oil must flow through the remote valve on it's way to the 3 pt valve for all hyd functions to operate correctly.

He said to T in the return line. Which one would assume is the return to tank and not the power beyond to the next valve.

He also stated "to add remotes" which is the reason I stated what I stated.

Generally you need THREE connections for add-on remotes - the new valve would have an inlet, out (to tank) and PB to (presumably) the last in line, the 3point. Flow would be from pump - fel - PB out of fel valve - inlet of new valve - PB of new valve to 3point inlet - all those would be the "pressure" loop.

That still leaves the TANK outlet of the new valve, which CAN and should be teed into the existing tank return... Steve

Back when I put add-on remotes to an open center hyd system I had a pressure hose and return hose and the valve operated correctly. Some control valves require 2 hoses and some require 3 hoses but "Not all valves" require 3 hoses. The number of hoses required will be dictated by the type of hyd valve being added.

The deal on the two port valve is that if you know the back pressure rating on the return/OUT port on the valve and it is equal to the pressure rating on the IN port, it can be used safely.

If the two port valve says no more than 500 psi back pressure on the return/OUT port , and you use it in a 3000 psi hyd system, you will surely cause some damage, sometime, somewhere.

Jim, fortunately JJ pointed out to me the 500 psi limitation on tank return lines of typical add-on valves several months ago - I've been accumulating "goodies" for 3-4 different hyd. projects, and went looking for any stack-type valves that did NOT have that limitation, and couldn't find any that were suitable for my applications.

Fortunately for me, JJ pointed out that limitation BEFORE I'd started plumbing, and I was able to separately order the PB plug for the Prince SV stack I'd bought, along with some extra fittings to do it right. I would have been more than slightly grumpy had I found out the hard way...

In my own version of "pay it forward", any time I see someone making what I think could be a costly or dangerous or otherwise irritating mistake, I'd rather speak up and be told to shut up than have someone NOT dodge the bullet JJ helped me duck just in the nick of time - :thumbsup::thumbsup: ...
