echo chainsaws

I've had an Echo CS6700 (pro saw with 24" bar/chain) for 27 years...I have used it to fell trees and cut them up for firewood every year...I keep the 24" bar around for felling big stuff, but went with a
20" for most work....I've never had to adjust the carb...the dealer set is up somewhat rich and told me to cut about 3 or 4 cords of wood, then bring it back..I did..he had one of those induction tachs and when he reset the carb on the high side the tach read 12000 rpm...just saying...there are saws and then there are SAWS...I doubt I'll ever need another one...BobG in VA

Hitachi = China made Tanaka Just so you know. $100 bucks who cares as long as it gets the job done.

Q. Where are these Tanaka saws made?
A. Tanaka saws are manufactured in China.

After reading these replies I have come to realize that echo is the better choice for me. Just works. No fussiness. If I gi back to stihl.itll have to be m tronic. Nothing against stihl just coukd never get it right.

Was just wondering if echo was easier. Now I realize its, easier for me on saws.

Thanks

I've had an Echo CS670 for close to ten years now. Its been a great saw. I had to replace the chain tension adjuster about 3 years ago but that's about it. I bought a CS400 two years ago to have lighter saw for smaller jobs and am impressed with that saw as well. I still have my my Stihl pole saw which won't leave until they pry my cold dead hands from it. I also have a stihl BG55 blower which starts on the first pull and works great.

I have great luck with both Stihl and Echo. I just think that the Echo chainsaws are of equal to the Stihl

I did discover that after I bought it. Hitachi also has the same 7 year consumer warranty as Tanaka. 7 years! Too bad I have 5 years worth of wood already cut!

I have heard tanaka is a pretty decent saw for the money. But never actually used one.

One thing I have learned working on and taking in trades on echo's. Echo parts are just as expensive or cost more then stihls. I have and had 2 3900 trim saws at worth of $100 used IMO with dead coil on 1 of them. They wanted $130 for new coil.

I just worked on a 5000 echo and it was nice. Still own a 8000, 6700, 4500, 3900, 702 452, 280. All can go to new owners = to many saws.

What do you want for the 8000 and what size bar is on it ?
