Honestly do not know how many saws I currently have. I do have several of most types- buy them at auctions or have them given to me. 038 magnum usually the first saw into the truck. I just like the saw and because it is used most I tend to keep it up on chains etc. Stabil in the sthil gas mix keeps them starting. A friend likes the small Homelights so he gets most of them; the 1050 I will keep a while longer. I think what you like you use -so much of this best saw stuff is a self fulfilling type thing. If I used my Poulan every week maybe I would not like the others that did not start or run well.

Years ago, I paid someone to cut some of my trees. These guys were climbing around in them like monkeys, cutting off limbs as they went. I noticed they all had the small, lightweight Echo saws hanging from their belts. They could hold them out at arm's length and cut off some pretty big branches. I went out and bought the same saw, twenty years ago and never looked back. I'll take light over size any day. Don't know if they are better than Stihl or not. Don't care. Just know these are darn good saws.

Good afternoon I have,recently traded my stihl saws or sold them for echo saws a cs400 and 600. Got tired of fussy,stihl carbs and constanyly adjusting. I have set the carb once on my 400 and thats it no adjusting.

Why is,echo eadier to deal with this way??

As others have stated you shouldn't have to adjust chainsaws, weedeaters, blowers, etc. once setup by selling dealer and possibly an after run in, slight tweak. You probably got hosed trading all those saws for two Echos. Not a slam on you, just hoping a dealer didn't take advantage of your goldmine of various Stihl saws. Next time come here first and ask about how to get them to run right before tossing them. (I have a couple of Echo weedeaters and a blower- and they are good machines too).
But you should have been able to get those Stihls running right without having to trade down. Were you having problems with starting cold, hot restart, what specifically was supposedly wrong with all that equipment?
And most new stuff is capped to keep the consumer from doing much adjustment to meet EPA specs for emissions.

No way a properly adjusted Stihl needs go be fiddled with that often. Something is wrong with the adjusting procedure or something else is in play here.

Dont care what brand. Tools are only as good as the owners behind them doing their maintenance and upkeep. JMO.

I have two Stihl chainsaws, one Echo chainsaw and an Echo weedeater. I don't have any complaints about the Stihl chainsaws, they work well and have tons of power, but compared to how much easier it is to start the Echo brand engines, I would never buy a Stihl again. Echo is just a lot easier to use.

I've owned Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, Dolmar, Efco. Probably one of my all time favorites was the Husqvarna 372xp. Currently using the 7900 Dolmar which is pretty nice to. The 5100 Dolmar had always been more touchy. I had the 670 Echo and it did seem to start easy Some saws have the carburetor solid to the jug and some have a rubber boot to the jug. I don't know if that difference could impact how easy a saw starts. It does create another source of air leaks and air leaks will really mess with a two cycle, especially in a boot that changes as you use and hold the saw at different angles.

The last saw I picked up was a little top handle Hitachi at Menards. Couldn't resist them when they were $99 after rebate. I've had good luck with other Hitachi tools so I figured it was well worth the$99. It's no speed demon but it sure is handy. I think until the wood gets to 4" in diameter or bigger it is the fastest saw to use because it leaves you with a free hand.
