Just looking for discussion on the Ya Hoo's or Boo Hoo's of owning the newer versions of Yanmar. Looks like some pretty good deals to be had and going on right now for them. Nice Warranties too.

This area of the forum is generally for machines that are 20 or 30 years older than what you're looking at. People who own the new Yanmars usually post in the Cub Cadet/Yanmar section of the forum here: Cub Cadet Yanmar & CUTs

You might also have good luck posting in the generic buying/comparison section here: Buying/Pricing/Comparisons

If you like the tractor, and the deal is good, I imagine the quality of the machine is at a comparable level to any of the other manufacturers' tractors in the same range. People may have strong preferences based on their own biases or preferences, but realistically I doubt there are substantial differences in quality amongst the Yanmar, Kubota, John Deere, Kioti, Mahindra etc. However, I don't think Yanmar offers as wide a variety as other companies, so there may not be an exactly comparable tractor.

I hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck.

I was wondering the same thing....that is, where I should post. My latest tractor is a '13 Yanmar LX4900. No longer Cub Yanmar.
As far as the machine, couldn't be happier. I tried a '11 LX490 with the shuttle shift first, but didn't care for it in the woods, and doing loader/grapple work. The craftsmanship is excellent on the LX's. I've played around with the EX's and SX's, they all have their own niche, and pros/cons. All great machines in my opinion, easily as good as a Kubota/Deere/NH, etc. etc. with the best warranty, typically for less money.
One point made is true, Kubota and Deere have more tractor options, more variety HP, attachments, etc.
Any mor specifics on particular models, feel free to ask.
Perhaps TBN should start a "NEW YANMAR" section??

I have an Sc2450 and it is not the size you are interested in but the same kind of quality and craftsmanship. I feel the Yanmars are a quality unit and I am very pleased with mine. Yanmar is losing dealers left and right. The company I bought mine from has dropped the Yanmar line. I looked up the next closest dealer and they were about another 20 miles from the original dealer. They have now dropped the Yanmar line. I now have to drive to a strange dealership that is a hard 70 mi away and it is frustrating. Fortunately I haven't had any problems with my Sc2450 that would require me to go to a dealer. I looked at the larger Yanmar's and they seem to be well built and well designed.

If the price is right and they have everything you need you will be happy with a Yanmar.

I would like to see you new model Yanmar owners post on this forum. I know nothing about the new ones but am interested in learning. Just my opinion. :D

I usually post in the SCUT Yanmar forum.

See next post.

I usually post in the SCUT Yanmar forum. Oh, wrong site. This is the only Yanmar forum on this site. By the way my Sc2450 is a "Yanmar" only no CC on anything.

I think most us here like our yanmars for reliability, simplicity and cost. Yes power steering would be nice. But that's about it. Why spend $15k on a tractor that will do the same thing as a $3k tractor??? In today's economy it just doesn't make sense.
