Karen has never shot a gun of any kind until a few weeks ago. She wanted to learn how, and then to go hunting. We started out with the .22 and then the .22-250. She is a very good shot, but terrified of anything bigger. The hogs have been coming in to my feeder pretty regular, so this morning we where out in the deer blind an hour before light waiting on them. The shot is 150 yards and the pig weighs around 50 pounds. Now she is all excited about her next one and wants to go out again tomorrow morning!!!:thumbsup:

Do you have any idea as to the good eating you are in for? I've had it once. Somehow the domestic pork just doesn't stack up. We have yet to see a mass invasion of the critters but we have permission to shoot on sight.

Eddy: You seem to get a lot of them, what all you do with them? Are they good eating then? I know they are pests down your way but seems to me they would be pretty tough meat?

The size of that animal is going to be good eating. The Old and larger Boars are tougher to eat and don't taste as good.

There are down-sides to having a girlfriend that knows how to shoot. Just sayin...

I agree, but I still like the concept of her "Bringing home the Bacon.:D

LOL ya, there are some downsides, tried to teach one of my girls to shoot... I eat enough bacon that I might just taste a bit like it lol...

Their mom ya not sure I want her aim to be better ;) I think I could catch her a few days a month rehearsing.. "Honest I thought he was going to be out of town for next 3 days and that someone had broke in, I was afraid for my life!" lol

ROF-LMAO-AWM!!

My spousal unit has her own weapons (rifle, shotgun, crossbows, etc.) and is an excellent shot, but constitutionally, she wouldn't be able to shoot anything that wasn't actively threatening our lives, and even then I am not 100% that she wouldn't attempt a disabling shot, rather than target center mass as she has had drilled into her by me.

Fortunately, we haven't yet been infested by the feral porcine menace, but if we had, I would have no second thoughts about shooting them and making some bacon for our freezer, though unless we needed them for food, I leave the deer, turkeys, squirrels, and rabbits that inhabit our land alone, and even we encourage them with the vegetable scraps that would otherwise go into the compost pile.

To Eddie:

Your GF looks to be quite the cutie, has picked up rifles, shooting, AND the hunting bug, plus she literally brings home the bacon = Total Hot Package!

WAY TO GO, Dude!!

We're all cheering for you Eddie.
