ABI landscape rake

Yes -- I wanted to use the rake for grading our very steep limestone driveway, and for use in our wooded trails! They told me that a landscape rake wouldn't do the job, that I really needed some other device they had -- the TR3 rake (which of course cost many $$$ more) the salesman on the telephone told me that I would not find a landscape rake anywhere on the market that would do what I wanted! On the other hand, ETA did not try to sell me something else, and the were confident that they had a superior design! That it would not break, bend, or the tines snap off -- and it has lived up to its reputation. I would have rather spent less money, but I could only afford to do this once!

As I did the research I found that the ABI model wasn't heavy enough -and was probably designed for light dirt work.

Thank you very much my friend. You've certainly gone the extra mile in helping me out here.

You know, I'm just hard headed enough to give the ABI rake a try. I'm going to be using the rake to gather fallen oak limbs and branchs from under and around trees then push them to a pile. The bigger limbs I can pick-up with my front-end pallet forks and move to the burn pit.

Again, many thanks. RGT

Your welcome -- I'm sure it will probably work good for what you are using it for! Good luck!

Sorry to resurrect this thread but... Rad, I was wondering if you purchased the ABI landscape rake and, if so, do you like it?

Now that ETA has stopped selling their V2 landscape rake (in lieu of the new V3) I've had to look around for a substitute. I've not found a lot out there with a clevis hitch as the ABI has.

Thank you much. RGT

What did you like about the V2 vs the V3 Landscape Rake?
The differences are that the V3 adds the capability of using the rake on both Cat 1 and 2 tractors without the need of bushings because of the new dual hitch.
Also, it has the option of using the floating toplink hole which works best with gauge wheels. They still have the fixed position toplink hole like the V2.

Those changes resulted in a price increase of $50.

Okay, I know when I'm licked. :)

Just got off the phone with Travis at ETA where I ordered the 6' landscape rake. The more I thought it the more I knew I really should buy something that was built tough enough for my heavy hand. Like the old saying goes "buy once cry once".

PS. Sorry to hijack your thread Rad.

No need to be sorry -- the thread had run its course and was done. Glad to have shared your time.
