Interim t4 would have DPF

Different manufacturers are implementing the EPA requirements at different times etc

I found two JD lawn and garden dealers within 25 miles that can sell the 4000 line. I've spoken to both and one has a 4720 open station in stock. He is sending me a brochure (eyes are no longer good enough to read the specs on the website) and I plan to stop in for a look next week. It's a pricy bugger but has more HP at lower RPM than does the Kubota L6060 and does not have particulate filters (How does JD get away with that?). I will certainly pay more to avoid particulate filters and/or DEF.

It also has the economy PTO feature, which is very desireable for my purposes as most of the time, I do not need 50+ HP for what I plan to use it for. The economy PTO feature allows one to cruise along in the light stuff at lower RPM saving fuel and keeping the hours down while maintaining blade tip speed. More and more manufacturers are offering this and it is a great feature. The Kubota does not have this feature.

From what I understand, the L6060 is pretty pricey too due to the "improved" design and Tier IV DPF. My connection i slooowww this afternoon, so I couldn't check specs on both.

My 2012 4720 has interim Tier 4 stamped all over it, and says so on the "build tag", look HERE ON THE JD WEBSITE for the 4x20 specs
I don't really know that much about it, but I figured that different HP's had different requirements.
I kinda like the interim tier 4 though...it's cleaner than any other diesel I've had, with the computer controlled engine, it doesn't seem to ever smoke, and lots of power.

It is working its way down the HP levels.

That's what I figured...but my point is that the jd 4x20's are interim tier 4 and no DPF (yet).

That's pretty interesting. Makes me want to go buy a 5115M now, I kind of planned on something like that in 2015.
So I read in there that some JD engines below 75hp are able to meet interim tier 4 without EGR or DPF. Boy, now is the time to buy a 4x20!!!!

Yup

EPA stuff pushed me to buy my compact track loader and the 5093e this year. I didn't want t spend the money but I didn't want to wait and have to deal with the emissions.

Also these emissions are free. Adding a lot to the price of the tractors.
