Here's a link to a picture of ours, which was originally built in the 1850's.. It burned to the ground in the 1920's and was rebuilt using salvaged timbers from an old tobacco storage shed a few towns over.. In the process of a long, tedious restoration which I hope to finish some day..

My barn is new to me and not very much to look at It needs some attention for sure but is pretty solid so I'll be fixing it up as time allows.

What is cool is that this barn was built around a really old barn. So inside there are a few 50' American Chestnut logs and many more shorter ones. Mostly in decent condition. Looks to have been built prior to 1879 if the carved date and name is to be trusted, possibly it goes back to the 1830s when there is a record for the land owner at that time having a son get married. Seems likely he built the log house and the barn. He and others in the family are buried up on the hill within sight of the house and barn. The father is buried on the next farm which also has an old house and old barn covered with a newer structure.
