Greetings,

I'm looking at a new 3535, and have no feel for what a fair price might be.

Any thoughts out there?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

The 35 series from Mahindra is nice. I purchased the 4035 a few months ago. There are not many of the base tractors sold, almost all are sold with front end loaders and many with backhoes. Base tractor MSRP is almost $20k, I'd imagine you could get it for closer to $18k paying cash. When doing financing it will be harder to talk them down. FELs and BHs aren't cheap, so if those are also in consideration, expect these numbers to increase substantially.

Hello Sysop, and any others out there who might be able to help,

Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe you can help me with one of my concerns.

My local dealer doesn't have a 3535 on the lot and would have to special order one.

I am concerned about the operator's platform. I've got long legs and big feet. I found that I don't fit well on a New Holland Boomer 35 or an equivalent 35HP Case.

I am comfortable on the Mahindra 3616 and the equivalent Massey Ferguson.

QUESTIONS:
Can I assume your 4035 is built on the same framework as the 3535, with a similar operator's space?

How is the leg/foot room on your 4035?

Do you know how it compares with a 3616, as a reference benchmark?

Any feedback you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, in advance.

Really it's a try it and see. The 3535 is a larger tractor than the 3616 and overall there is more room, but the variances in the control layout might make the 3616 seem like it has more space for the operator (pedals spread wider and farther away, steering tilts at a higher point).

The 4035 and 3535 are laid out slightly different in the station, but they are the same general size. I could let my 30-35 pound terrier set on the floor between my legs on either the 3535 or 4035, but there is a hump in the floor of the 3616 that would prevent such a thing.

Any of the models mentioned, when equipped with a loader, you almost need to enter from the left side of the tractor because the loader control on the right side is more to get around to get in. The 3616 I think is the easiest to enter the operator's station and is plenty roomy once planted in the chair. With the 3535 and 4035, while entry is a bit tighter, there is more room once in the seat. I'm slender and 6'2", I have no issues climbing either side of any of them and have plenty of legroom for my 34" inseam legs...

If this were Mexico or the middle east or someplace they have no safety police, you'd see at most 5 people riding on a 3616 operator's station and rear fenders, including the operator. With a 3535 or 4035 there's room for at least 7 with the operator... :D

This is a well written assessment of the different models operating ergonomics.

Thanks, I had hoped it was as clear on the screen as it was in my head :D

Happy to help! I still think the best option is to find a dealer who has one you can set on whether it be the 3535 or the 4035, even if you need to drive a bit just to set on one then have your local dealer order you a fresh one. The 3535 & 4035 are the same general size and feel although the control layout is a little different but allows the same "space" for the operator, unlike the 3616 which is smaller but more spread out to make the needed room for the operator. It's sorta like good jeans, everyone has a specific brand and cut that fits them best. I think if the 3616 was fine for you, any of the 35 series would be as well, but that's just a guess.
