My tractor came with no rear work light. It does have two wire feeds coming out the back labeled: horn no more than 2 amps, work lights no more than 3 amps. If I splice these two wires together, can I run a 55 watt halogen I have which draws a bit over 4 amps on these combined circuits? They both seem to be going to the same 10 amp fuse.

Lets clarify a few things. Isn't the horn lead likely to have a horn button in series with it somewhere? Does the Worklight feed go through the key switch, but horn hot all the time?.. Lots of unknowns here. What other circuitry is fed off of this 10 amp fuse besides these two?.. Have you thoroughly examined the schematic to find out? We can't answer these questions without a thorough analysis of the wiring diagram. Here is what I would do. I would scrap the halogen idea and get an LED worklight that draws less than 3 amps. OR since I believe you already have the halogen lamp, I would wire this myself with my own inline fuse back to the battery, thru my own switch on the dash if that is the way I wanted it to work or a switch on the worklight if I wanted it to work that way.

Good points James. I did not look for any "horn button" on the tractor with the idea of a "horn" on this size tractor being totally alien to me. I traced these wires back through the loom and went by color code. They are both going to the dash and seem to be coming off the wires going to the rear tail lights but as you wisely state, there is a bit of fogginess as to their actual direction as I cannot see all the way up into the dash to be sure. Those LED's are a super light but I'm having trouble justifying spending a hundred bucks for a light smaller than my palm that will get used occasionally.

Well, I think you best bet would be to wire it up using your own wire and and inline fuse near the battery.. that is what I would do..
