Made in China quick couplers

So I bought some "cheap" quick couplers for my third function from a vendor that advertises here on TBN. I bought the rest of the stuff (valves, hoses, fittings) from another advertiser here on TBN. Today was the first time I've had the grapple off my tractor since I complete my install last week. I hitched on to my finish mower and started to mow my fields. I noticed a constant drip on one of the quick couplers out front. Stopped, wiped it out and continued mowing. It wasn't very long and it was leaking again...I guess I've got a bad QD, so I disconnected that line up by the valve (I put QD there so I can disconnected from my loader) so I don't drip oil all over my field. I be an sob that one leaks too! So at lunch I called the vendor and explained by situation. He was less than sympathetic.
What's the verdict on these import QDs? Anyone else had trouble?

Yeah I'm aware that they're not up to the quality of say a Pioneer QD. I took a chance and it didn't work out. The vendor tells me that they need to be rinsed out because there's some debris in the coupler. He said they see it all the time. I'd of thought the fluid would have done it but he says no, not enough volume to rinse it out. So I guess I'll take them off and rinse them out per his instruction. If I send them back and they deem them OK then they ship the same one back and charge me for shipping. Thats why I was asking if anyone else had issues.

Don't know why that double posted. Did you try connecting and disconnecting a couple times? Maybe it has debris on sealing surface. I know with air line qd they are just about useless.

Yes I did. I'll play around with a bit tomorrow maybe. I'll report back and let you know what I find out.

I can say one thing for sure: if I had a response like that from a vendor, I would never order from them again. Curious to see how it works out.

You might be surprised as to how much of our parts are made overseas.

Do the parts say made in China.

What is the brand name on the QD's

You can test them by applying flow to an unplugged QD. Test both sides. If it is in the cyl circuit, just unplug and give the lever a quick jolt, or hold the lever util the relief valve activates.

Are you plugging the same brand into each other. Some QD's will have balls,and some will have poppets.

Those things are pretty simple. I recommend you disassemble them and fully inspect and clean them. Hopefully the problem will be apparent and if it's debris you will be done and if it's a defect you can send a pic and the vendor should be satisfied and send replacement parts.

The Buyers brand that Northern used to sell were pretty much junk but I made them work. Tractor Supply has a pretty good price on Pioneer couplers and I have had good luck with them. The hoses going to my backhoe tend to want to twist in operation which was destroying o-rings until I ordered a pack of square double-seal o-rings from McMaster-Carr.
