You might be surprised as to how much of our parts are made overseas.

Do the parts say made in China.

What is the brand name on the QD's

You can test them by applying flow to an unplugged QD. Test both sides. If it is in the cyl circuit, just unplug and give the lever a quick jolt, or hold the lever util the relief valve activates.

Are you plugging the same brand into each other. Some QD's will have balls, and some will have poppets.

I bought them as a matched set. They are both ball type QD's. I'll have to look for the name on the QD's tomorrow.

As a side note: are poppet and ball type QD's compatible? The reason I ask is I put three rear remotes on my Kubota L3830 and the are poppet style. The QD's in question are two sets for my third function / grapple.

They are suppose to be, but I found that about 15% of them were not. Now that is with poppet female ends and ball male ends. Don't know for sure about the other way around, but I have had zero problems since I now only sell the poppet type ends. ;)

From my somewhat limited experience I've learned that the ball type QD's leak when they're disconnected because they seal metal to metal, they don't have an o ring that seals against the ball. Some are worse than others because of quality of machining. The poppet type I've seen have an o ring, can't remember if it's on the poppet or seals against the poppet, and they don't leak.

If the ones you have keep leaking, they can probably be fixed pretty easily. Take them apart and put the end with the ball down on a steel plate with a hole in it the same size as the hole in the QD. Use a soft steel rod against the ball and give it a good whack with a heavy hammer. It will swage a perfect seat for the ball if you hit it hard enough. The ball should be very hard and undamaged.

I used to work as a machinist at a place that manufactured hydraulic equipment and that's what we did. We used a brass rod, but soft steel should work as well. If you have aluminum use that.

So I didn't find any brand name on these QD's. Just "Made in China" and the size / thread. I did as the rep said yesterday (rinsing them out) and they both still leak ( I figured this would be the out come) . I decided to contact them using there online chat this time around. Explained the problem again and what I'd done per the other rep. They said they'd send me an RMA but wouldn't ship out replacements until after they received the defective ones.....That's pretty handy right there...
They also won't credit my money. Only store credit or exchange of merchandise. So I guess I'll be getting my QD's back in over a week and who knows, maybe these will leak too. LESSON LEARNED!

Went to my local automotive parts store of choice and found out they deal in Gates hydraulic hose and fittings. They had two in stock and the best part was they say Made in the USA! Put them on and they worked perfectly. So I know where I'll be going from now on, and I know where I wont be going . It's too bad because they do advertise on TBN which pays the bills so we can have these conversations. So does anyone need some import female QD's at a slight discount over retail?

I sure would like to the name of the place of purchase so, I'll know where not to buy.If they knew they had problems and knew about washing out their QD then, they should clean/wash them out b-4 they sell them. Sometimes it just pays to buy local. If you have problems you just take them back
