I would pay extra to delete leather. I am probably in the minority though. Had two vehicles and hated the leather in both. Hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Burning my legs is not luxurious and both were cracked and wrinkled before age of 5.

Same with my experiences. Covercraft makes good covers, washable too.

I would not buy without leather. My 06, 07, and 08 all look like 95% new. All are pushing 100,000 miles.

We agree on many things but the durability of leather automobile seats isn't one of them. People either love them or hate them and it appears that we have both sides covered.

Why not just put an old plastic table cloth over your cloth seat when you get dirty on a job?
Then you can take it off when you get home and enjoy the cloth seat when your clean.
If you put a tie on seat cover on you may get a permanent stank from mold developing on the real seat cover.

I bought the cheapo covers at Autozone with the Chevy logo (you can get Ford and Ram too). They fit OK, last about a year, are super cheap and fairly easy to install. A pretty good value, but know that you'll replace the driver side regularly.

side air bags are in the seats and not the doors?

Yes. In the seats on some. Our GM vans have side curtain air bags under the edges of the headliner as an option. So does Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Escalades.

Eddie's and my F150 have both. Side curtain from above to protect head and side from seats to protect hips and chest. Pretty common in most all vehicles now.
