High 70's today. Nice weather all week.
I did NOT mow anything this w/e. Hah, I think I set a new TBN record for letting all my grass and pastures go.

And I feel darn good about it.

I have not cut our pastures this year. Too dry. They were overgrazed by the previous owner. We are trying to rehab the damage done. Spraying the Mesquite with Renegade, but otherwise not touching anything. A little rain would help.

Good afternoon. 1630. Mostly cloudy, already cooled off to 88* with 66% humidity. Forecast low is 70* with 20% chance of rain tonight. Fall is in the air.

I took down most of the fence around the garden and mowed everything but the peppers and one tomato plant. Then I tilled the mulch and dead vines. I ate as much melon as I could hold, and picked a few more before I tilled them in. But the rain did a number on them this year. Other than the banana cantaloupe, my melons didn't turn out like I had hoped.

68 degrees going up to 90 today and 91 tomorrow. Looks like some of that hot Southern air is coming to visit for a couple of days.

hope to have a fun day today. Am picking up my new smaller utility trailer, and then headed to the golf cart place nearby and pick up our "new" golf cart, which hopefully will look new after they are done detailing it. and then I hope to terrorize the neighborhood in the golf cart with my wife yelling her normal "faster faster"...
and then in two weeks we hope to pull both behind the motorhome when we go to Otter Lake in the Poconos. Nadene is about to start a new chemo trial next week so our timing is always up in the air, but after Labor Day I think there will be enough space at any of these places so that we can get in the last minute.

Actually I need to call the rv place and see how they are doing with the motorhome,putting on the extra suspension stabilizers and finishing my punch list of little stuff to fix.

I have to now plan on moving dozens of pieces of farm equipment and "stuff" out of my storage barn into a Public Storage nearby. What a pain. Oh well, at least both tractors won't sit outside like they do now. And I'm hunting for another local farm, putting my feelers out. I bought all this stuff in preparation for having my own retirement farm, and now that we have the motorhome, we can go explore and hopefully find a nice spot to build. But it's hard to get excited about it, or at least with my wife, when we both know that she won't be around to join me. So I guess we go to the Poconos for awhile and hope for a miracle. The doc looked at her yesterday and said she was utterly amazed that Nadene looked as good as she does after going through everything she has. And promptly approved her for the trial. Good thing, we came home much happier. She needs hope, in whatever form it comes.

enough of that, we have our hands full, but so do many of us, and no whining.
Just need to focus on all the good stuff in life, and in that my glass is overflowing.

Low 90's today, humidity starting to come back in.

I got equipment all over the place, and the guy who is suppose to be cutting, ain't. Next year will be different.

I still have some re-seeding to do, now that all the hand raking is done. Amazing the difference in seed germination between sun and shade areas. The sunny areas, nary a blade of grass. Hey, not complaining, when is the last time anyone tried starting grass in mid-august, in the DC area, from scratch? So I get a do over in spots, large at that.

Made iced coffee this morning. 70° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 93° with a cooling breeze. Off to my mothers place to do exterior power washing and window cleaning. Hope I get it done before the heat gets above 80.

I had spots like that, I finally ran a disc over them as mine were mostly clay spots, planted the seed and watered as best I could, as soon as fall and spring hit they started coming up in the disc marks and spread.

What a BEAUTIFUL morning ... thank you God.

Mid 60s this morning, heading for mid 90s - but, looking forward the temps are about to break and will soon see highs in the 70s and 80s. I'm looking forward to the temperature drop so I can "enjoy" working to clean up some dead trees around the pasture edges. I'm new to the idea of tending an acreage but have acquired some quality gear and built a barn to store it - so it's much easier now to be productive without having to haul everything from home to the property about 5 miles away.

Never really thought I'd be in this situation but life has a way of changing your plans Spent my life in the city, with a 40 year career in computers ... now, retired to a small community and standing in the middle of 110 beautiful acres. Wonderful wife, too many - but precious dogs, and excitement for moving forward with a new home. God has been so good to me.

Today is my wife's birthday. I surprised her this morning with sapphire and diamond pendent earrings and necklace. That should keep me off her snit-list for awhile. I have a doctor's appt with a pulmonary specialist to get my lung capacity checked this morning and then another appt tomorrow afternoon with my surgeon since it's been three weeks since my surgery. I've found that as I get older, I spend more and more time in doctor's offices, but the good news is I'm well covered with insurance and the doctors are doing good things for me. I'm blessed to have such good medical care so close to home.

I am going to visit my neighbor at the nursing home. I have been going to see him every day. He is optimistic about going home. I am not as optimistic, but it isn't in my hands. Or his.

Good morning all. 83F going to 98F ans sunny. No check engine lights after sensor replacement
watering sod and chores today. After tomorrow temps are going to back off a bunch

Took all the dogs to vet yesterday for their semi annual check and shots - all healthy. Wallet feels a bit poorly though.
Started putting stuff in tractor shed extension. Will start making some dollies today for Implements.
