Finally got the new 509 repaired after the Boom would stay up after the first hour of work. I dug up a flashboard riser that had silted up and after I tried to move to the opposite side, noticed the boom was dragging the ground. When lifted, it would not stay up, just straight to the ground. Loaded it up and back to the dealer.
They thought the valve was bad and ordered one, changed it out and it still would not stay up. Next, the boom cylinder was removed and the problem was there.

Something in the cylinder damaged the piston and caused fluid to bypass. Ordered new cylinder and replaced it.

Got it back and dug a BIG hole!

Summation-
The 509 is a digging bada$$ attachment. The 3510 will supply enough GPM to make it work as expected. It will snatch the tractor around if too big a bite is attempted even with loaded rears. Will drag you off in the hole if you keep pulling!!
Runs best @ 2000 RPMs, any more and it jerks around and is hard to operate smoothly. Under 1800 RPMs and it is sluggish and less than that, weak. Tractor never ran above midrange temperature even on 95+ days for hours of tough digging. I am pleased with the BH and recommend it for any tractor under 40 HP.
ALL the backhoe the 3510 wants and more!

Next- I need a Thumb!!!!! :dance1::cool2::drink:

Yes, you need a thumb. Looks like you are in more than knee deep in that hole.
