3rd Function grip handle

The Deere one puts your wrist in a better position as you lean on the parts counter also, for taking it up the keester at two to three times the price. You know, JD's world class pricing.

The grip with switch is about $76 from JD dealer parts. Online JD sellers a little less.

MtnViewRanch,

Just so that I understand you correct, would the diverter setup be sufficient to connect the loader hydraulics to the grapple setup? And if so, do you have a recommendation for which function to divert? As it stands, the 2305 can not lift and curl at the same time. Therefore, it seems to me that it would be logical to divert the lift function so that I could operate both the curl and the grapple functions together. Does this seem reasonable to you. Please let me know your thoughts.

Well that's a down right fair price. I stand corrected, the John Deere handle makes it easier to lean over and kiss the parts counter guy. Ergonomically speaking of course!

Provided of course were are talking that slick two button JD green affair on their bigger tractors.

I would divert the curl function, so when you press the button the motion for curl becomes open or close of the grapple.

Typically the curl function is what gets diverted for grapple use. You can choose to use which ever function it is that you would prefer. It sounds though as if you are going to be limited to one function at a time which really is no big deal. It is all within a slit second to go from one to the other. I personally would use the curl function. ;)

MtnViewRanch,

just curious, why is the curl function deleted? My reasoning for bypassing the lift function is that it simply does not work while curling under load. I was thinking that being able to open the grapple really wide and then clamp down from both parts of the grapple simultaneously (like when grabbing a big pile of brush and brambles that are not so much heavy as they are awkward to work with) would be ideal.

How about my other question, would the diverter kit be sufficient to run hydraulics to the grapple?

thanks in advance,

The curl function is not deleted. Whenever you use a diverter, when the diverter is activated, (have the button of the control grip activated) the default function (curl function)does not work.
Take your thumb or finger off of the switch and the diverter goes back to the default position. (the curl function then works as it normally would)

If you want to use the lift function with the diverter, you can, but based on what you have said, you will still only be able to do a single function at a time.

As far as the grapple having enough power, the diverter that I am recommending flows 15GPM at 3600PSI, way more than your tractor produces. The grapple will work as well as it possibly can with your tractor.

Delete was the wrong word. I meant that the "deleted" function was temporarily deactivated. The grapple I am looking at is designed for subcompact tractors, but your input has been invaluable. One last question. Will the diverter package you mentioned be sufficient to connect to the grapple or will I need further hardware as well? Thanks

It is a complete package for the tractor. You need hoses and QDs to go from the grapple to the QDs that are on the front of the tractor. Those usually come with the grapple. Fill out the contact page over at Fit Rite and I will go into more detail for you. ;)

As used on the 4000 series tractors
