Good afternoon.

Got Walmartianated yesterday evening by a lady who took forever to go through the checkout (in one of the two that were open out of of 20-some) on her first pass. Then for some reason she waited a few customers to buy a $12 plastic storage bin. Three cards didn't work, so she finally writes a check. I never go to Walmart unless I have to, and every time I have to, I am reminded why I hate the place.

Ran down the green stuff aka "lawn" with the lawnmower and started cleaning off the garden today. It's all done except for the sun flowers.

Planning board meets tonight so I'll have to see if there is some way to deny someone a permit, or find hoops for them to jump through. Not really LOL, we are very loose as long as the septic systems are proper.

I cannot believe you're letting your lady friend operate that tractor with the ROPS folded down!!

Even worse, she is not wearing a seat belt.... Heck I myself NEVER put the ROPS up on flat ground when using the loader because I attach a 450 pound steel weight directly to the drawbar that slides in under the rear gearcase. There is NO WAY my tractor is going to tip over on level ground.

Roy, like you, I am a big fan of The Band. I got their new album, The Band Live At The Academy Of Music, this week on Spotify. It is a live show recorded in 1971, when they were all still alive and speaking to each other. When I am by my PC at home, or my laptop at work, I listen to music on Spotify, a free music service kind of like Pandora. You can create radio station based on songs or albums you like, or you can make playlist from albums. Like all streaming music, it doesn't work right all the time, but it is free. I run the sound from the headphone jack through my stereo's RCA jacks. You can pick up a headphone to RCA adaptor at a thrift store for a couple of bucks.

Well, with the ROPS down, no seat belt is the rule...
If she was wearing the seat belt with the ROPS down, I'd have to chastise you again.

Roy, like you, I am a big fan of The Band.

My music tastes are eclectic...not much I don't like.
Mostly blues (older John Lee Hooker and others from the 50's and 60's), lots of late 60's through 70's R&R and country....again, mostly older stuff. Just got into Brubek.
But there's a lot of other stuff I listen to as well...but I do focus on those I listed above.

Dave-----What? We don't beat you up enough around here? Surely you are a glutton for punishment to be on a planning board? You must be a real stand-up guy to tolerate that abuse. I learned my lesson on the finance committee. Meetings in February and March when it was the coldest and every $10 debated until the cows came home with grandstanding by everyone with cabin fever. Which was everyone in town.

Looks like selectman is next for you. Then you can really earn your pay.

mid 70's today.
Lawns and pastures all done yesterday. Not by me! :) Sweet. The person that leases part of the property, wants something. :) I am not giving in.
The pastures look good for a one cut year, not a lot of weeds, less than expected. Could be better, but I will not gripe. Everyone has their own schedule.
I need to finish up my milkhouse room, that will be my "toolshed" this weekend.

Have a great day everyone, and a fantastic w/e. I hope I still can work come Tuesday.

Good Morning All.

good morning all, reporting in from the Poconos. What a pretty place this is, almost deserted during the week, though tomorrow they are having a 5k run that goes right through the campground so that should be interesting to watch, perhaps....I'm sure not much of a runner.

Boy do we like the gas heat in the motorhome. Quieter and warmer than the noisy and drafty heat pump.
But we got our education this morning....oh dear, the propane level reads almost empty. Oops. Guess the heater sucks a lot of propane. Kinda wondering how I'm going to cook sausage and eggs this morning.
Oh well, cook til it stops, then go outside and fire up the travel grill.

today I work on the golf cart, watering the batteries, and then I might spritz the motorhome with some spray detailer, after I scrub the bugs off the front. And then we go exploring up and down every single little part of this campground. Some huge fifth wheelers here, this place is a little more upmarket than the last place we went, nothing looked green and moldy from being there too long.

I also intend to take a book down to the lake, sit in my rocker, and read, occasionally looking up to see the leaf colors reflected in the water, like a French impressionist painting.

Lastly, it seems that Marshall Machinery is all of ten miles away in Honesdale, the next big town East of us.
Boy if I were pulling a car instead of a golf cart, I'd be gone to over there in a heartbeat. Lots of used Kubotas there, just a first class dealership from what I've seen.

So, I intend to stay very busy doing as little as possible, and hope you all have a great Friday.

51 right now...clear and a bit crisp.
The high today is going to be about 70 and sunny.

Mowed inside the fenced area yesterday and some other outdoor chores. Not sure what I'll do today.

Did two phone interviews yesterday....both preliminary screening calls with HR. Both in SE New Hampshire (Manchester area) and went good.
I was hoping I'd hear something about the Newport job...not yet though. Maybe today...

Morning all!

Having an odd morning. Can't seem to get up to steam, but woke up wide awake and not interested in sleeping in...

Yesterday my middle daughter turned 13, I got to see her very briefly, plus she emailed me a thank you for my gifts I sent.

I did get to take my youngest out for Pizza and play in the park for a couple hours (we had a blast of course).

Looks like a slightly cloudy day, fallish temp wise.

Tonight I think I get to take my big girls roller skating... Hopefully I will get to do that...

Going to a wedding in Northern VA tomorrow for a good friend who moved away a couple years ago. That will consume Saturday (staying in a hotel even) and then Sunday I should get my youngest for the day. Weekend is supposed to be very nice...

Be well & God Bless all of you.
Loving the pictures, oceans, lakes, grass, whatever... All Good!

David

I don't think I'd want to be a selectman. That is a truly thankless job. We have a town revaluation being done this fall, so you know the March Town Meeting will be exciting. :D

The planning board is pretty quiet these days. We get applications for small camps or additions to existing homes, but hardly any new home or commercial construction. The board is staffed by volunteers for punishment, no pay of any kind.

Last night we had one application for a small camp with a shed on bare land, and one for a carport on a lot in the shoreland zoning area. In that one, the owner was figuring fairly creatively to stay within the 20% limit on covered ground area, but he got his permit.
