Trapped man digs out with pocket knife

A couple of articles I found. Apparently the drawbar broke trapping the man. Just a reminder that weird things happen and always be mindful and attentive to surroundings and equipment. The article is light on details and maybe there was nothing that he could have done different.

I agree. I haven't gone without a pocketknife of some kind since I was 6 years old. I don't think there was a boy in the first grade without a pocketknife.

Wow. Today, if a kid had a pockeknife in school, he would be suspended for a very very long time. Times have changed.

Story the other day of a kid being suspended for simply playing Cops and Robbers with his fingers.. :duh:

I agree. I haven't gone without a pocketknife of some kind since I was 6 years old. I don't think there was a boy in the first grade without a pocketknife.

Same here Bird, had a pocketknife in my pocket the first day of first grade and my last day when I graduated as a senior. Still carry one every day too!.. Does that make us rednecks or just old poots.

I used to carry one but the consequences of forgetting about it when screened by TSA convinced me to stop. They even took away a little credit card sized metal multitool in my wallet.

The junior and senior boys often brought rifles to school too. Locked in their cars and trucks for hunting after school. We are talking 17 to 18 year olds here.

yeah I had to leave mine at home too last December when I flew to Chicago.. felt naked.. and Chicago is where I more likely would need it for defense:shocked:
