15Kw generator on 7.5Kw transfer switch

My tenant wants to use a 15Kw generator at my rental house on my 7.5Kw transfer switch. The switch was wired into the house panel by my electrician a couple of years ago. My own 7.5Kw generator was STOLEN from the house's garage, hence the need to use something else.

errr... ive installed alot of transfer switches over the years, but they have always been rated in amps, not kw.

I guess alot depends on which circuits are being run and what sized feeder wire between generator and panel is installed. A 7.5 KW is usually wired as a 30 amp/240 system and mostly wired in 10/3 feeder. A 15kw could generate 62.5 amps so would require min 6/3 feeder cable.

I have installed alot of 15 - 20KW whole house systems, and generally feed them with 1/0 alum feeders to the transfer switch and to the panel being protected.

There's a power inlet box on the outside of the house into which a 4 prong correct wire size female plug attaches- the other end of the cord plugs into the 4 prong 30 amp female output on the generator.
Where, and what size breaker are you suggesting for the generator side?

Seems like you could put a breaker box on the house side of the power inlet box.

7500 watt/ 220 volts is 34 amps. I'd fuse it according to the wire size between the inlet box and the main service panel.

It's this way: generator, cord to inlet box, inlet box, cord to transfer switch, armored cable from transfer switch to one of two identical panel boxes.
So where in this setup would one try to place another breaker box?

The installation should already have a generator feed with a 30A breaker. A potential current surge doesn't care where the breaker is so long as it 's between the source and the load. This is similar to a utility feed with a capacity of thousands of amps protecting your house with a 200A breaker.

Just make sure that the 30A breaker is upstream of the switch gear

What type of transfer switch? a true transfer switch? a breakout box? a breaker interlock?
How was your portable generator connected to this transfer switch? cord with a plug? hard wired?

What is the connection plan for the 15kw generator? hard wired? what type of corded connection does it have if any? maybe a 120/240 30amp plug already there for use.
