I just got a used 3720 with cab and 36 hours,2011, everything still looks new and i don't think the rear 3 point hitch has ever been used, I tried to move the rock shaft control lever and it won't move at all, is there something i'm missing here, thanks for any help

I would first determine where the problem is. Disconnect the linkage from the valve, then see if the lever and linkage will move. If it doesn't move the cable may be stuck and will need to be freed and lubed up. This assumes the lock is loose on the rockshaft depth stop next to the rockshaft lever.

If the valve is stuck I would LIGHTLY work the spool in and out carefully to free it up. Will need to get something on the end to grip it and use a small hammer to get it to loosen up. Don't hit it too hard though, if it won't free up easily you should call your dealer if that is where you purchased it.

Thanks for the reply, that is the path i was going to try first, I just hope i don't have to remove those loaded tires to get to it.

If you don't think the 3 point has ever been used, any chance the PO moved it full up and set the adjustable stop against it?

Lift arms are at the bottom and adjustment stop on the console is not stopping the lever. thanks for the input.

Should not have to, can access from the rear of the tractor.

Sorry, I had to ask. I can't tell you how often my problems are the simple things I overlook.

update: i removed the shift cable and the cable works fine, i tried to loosen the lever that the cable attaches to but no luck, i'm hoping its covered under the 3 year powertrain warrentee??

On my 4520 I had to remove the top cover on the rockshaft to reconnect the linkage which came loose. Took me about an hour or so once I started the project to fix everything and button up. On mine the lever would move freely and rotate the rod in the rockshaft but I had no response. I have put about 200 hours on it since then with no problems.

If it is in warranty let the dealer fix it. With such few hours I think Deere will make good on it regardless of warranty dates.
