Wondering how many have used a rugged carry all and have a model in mind that is a plug and play unit. I am still looking for a nice unit about 60" wide and 48" long with maybe 3' removable sides. I might have to build my own, but I see a market for one especially for a small firewood wagon.

I recommend a set of pallet forks for 3 point intead of a Carry all. The forks will be more versatile. You can build a custom pallet to your specs and it back into it when you need it.

I like the pallet idea, but without sides it would not last 30 seconds. I am running the rig in some new land that has not been managed in 30 years.

Probably a good suggestion, although more expensive. I bought a used setup like the OP described, removable sides and all. It wasn't very strong and the frame bent when I had a load of rocks on it.

I like the idea of using forks and pallets. I do that for firewood but with front mounted (FEL) forks.

TSC has a carry all frame rated at 1000 pounds, that might be my choice, but was hoping for one already made to put to use.

I use the tsc one and have built a removable wooden deck for it with sides. Its a great firewood carrier. It would likely bend with really heavy materials, but since its loaded by hand that is less of an issue. Other uses include moving lawn furniture (tables, chairs, etc), trash barrels, logs, trees for transplanting and tools and a generator at a job site. Off the tractor and on a dolly i also use mine as a cart in the garage.

The frame consists of a few 2x4s then posts on the side with strapping for a cross brace. The carry all has pre drilled holes so you can use bolts to secure it in place, but keep it remocable.

I built the one described and constructed on this video. It has been great and the only thing I need to add is large caster wheels so I can roll it around in my barn.

Instead of casters, which would pick up debris if used outdoors, you might look into one of those Harbor Freight dollies. They are cheap and should work in a shop with a concrete floor.

I have a set of 3PH forks and like them for the strength.

I have one of the TSC 1000# carryalls that I have built into a multipurpose carry platform similar to the Wilson's one. Mine has hinged sides that can be folded in to make a simple L-shaped platform, or folded out to make U-shaped box, or I can slide tailgate boards into channel iron in the sides to close up the back. Finally, one of the tailgate boards can be placed (in brackets) across the sides to make a (fairly uncomfortable!) seat. It is set up with plastic tubes for tool handles (rake, shovel, broom or whatever) and a chainsaw scabbard.
I like the setup I've made, but I would wish for a sturdier frame. Mine bent at the welds from (wet) firewood weight, and I had to have some extra welding done to beef up the weld points. For my DK45, I'd like at least 1500#, if not 2000# capacity.
