Well, I just recovered from the weekend. Not good for me ... Cards went 1-1 and Mizzou ... well, Mizzou won 50 minutes of that game. Unfortunately, the game lasts 60 minutes. Anyway, we are still ranked #9 in the BCS and South Carolina is still behind us in the rankings. My voice is hurting!

I thought Wong, the pinch runner, was taking a risky big lead-off with the thought that a ball rolled out into a corner somewhere would allow him time to get home. With two outs, avoiding the double play is meaningless. Desperate situations call for desperate measures.
Unfortunately for Wong, the throw could not have been more perfect.

If he got picked-off because he was thinking of scoring on an extra base hit -- then -- he is foolish. The score was 4-2. His run was useless unless another run scored. He only needed to get to third base. If he wanted to get to second to avoid a force out (make the fielder get Beltran at 1st), then, well, OK I can see that objective. But, above all, DO NOT GET PICKED-OFF TO END THE GAME!!!
