New Kubota owner - Need some help

Good afternoon,
Just moved out to the country and bought a kubota bx 2370 and need to some help.

1. Can I run a mid mount mower with a 4 foot brush hog still attached? In other words, is there a way where the MMM is cutting but the brush hog on the 3 point hitch is raised to that it does not drag behind and cut?

2. Im haveing trouble taking the 4 foot brush hog of the back. I know to pull the pins on the top link and on the two side links, and also how to push down on the release pin to get the shaft off of the pto, but when I try to take the swing arms off of the brush hog they are like not moving at all. I have pulled on them but they do not budge. So, I was wondering is there something that I have to loosen in order to get them to swing off?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if there is anything else that you think I should know and have the time to tell me I would be quite appreciative.

They are pretty easy to get off, getting them back on can be interesting. Pick a spot to take off your rotary cutter in the most level piece of ground you can find.. Get some wood or something to put under the front of the "hog" so it doesn't sit in the dirt. Make sure your PTO shaft is well greased between the two sections and pointed down or covered. Rain can rust them together. When you go back to hook up. take it slow and easy to get lined up with your turnbuckles loosened up to allow the arms to move enough to go over the ends of the pins. I don't think you have telescoping links, so get a big prybar to pry the "hog" around to line up things.. be sure your swear word vocabulary is updated to all the latest verbs. Wear heavy boots so you wont hurt your feet by kicking the sheet out of things. Come back later and we can talk about quick-hitches.:thumbsup: Good luck, have fun, stay young, and drink Pepsi

I really wouldn't recommend mowing with the bush hog still on the three point hitch, but if you want to do that or need to do that, there's a way to keep the hog up while you drop the mid mount mower (MMM) for mowing. There are two (one on each side) ears with holes welded to the ROPs frame just inside each rear wheel. You will need to unpin the vertical lift links on your 3PH and move them to the holes as described. This fixes the 3PH in the up position. You'll need to take the weight off of the 3PH with the hog on it so you can unpin and re-pin the vertical lift links, e.g., block it up somehow.

Also, you can choose which PTO (mid, rear, or both) is activated when you engage the PTO lever. Make sure you only have the mid PTO engaged while mowing with the MMM. Sounds like you might be running both at the same time. Good luck.

You mid mower is going to be knocking down a 60" path when the brush hog is 48" wide? WE normally fix the side chains by making a pin easy to remove while unhooking and rehooking attachments so you don't need to make the adjustments everytime.

I think not having the brush hog attached would probably be the best way to do it. I was just wondering if there would be a way, but it seems that although there is a it's probably not the best. Now that I understand how to take the brush hog off, i will just do the mowing up front by the house with the mid mount mower. I guess with more practice and taking it on and off, it will become a beeze.

Nope. Will never be a breeze unless you get one of the quick hitches, but it will get much easier the more you do it. The first couple times are the worst.

Fortunately your implements are small enough that you can horse them around easily.
