Is the LS EZ trans the same set up as Kubotas Glide shift? My understanding is that neither require clutching for F/R but the LS does require clutching for regular gear changes, Kubota doesnt? Sound right?

The GST is a hydraulically shifted manual transmission with a hydraulic shuttle. It has a forward and a reverse clutch pack. When shifting between gears it momentarily stops flow to whichever pack is in use and makes the gear change. The 4-5 gear shift also shifts the high/low fork. To me it combines the strength of a gear transmission with the ease of an automatic without the need for a torque converter. It sounds like the LS is merely a hydraulic shuttle transmission.

The LS ez shift is all electronic. There is a electric motor on the clutch link and there is an actuator on the F/R shuttle. Also on the gear shifter there is a declutch button which sends a sig to the controller that tells the motor on the clutch to disengage the clutch. I have roughly 10 out working right now and I've had very little trouble with them. Pretty much once you use the clutch to start up the tractor you basically don't have to use it anymore. The biggest thing is when you shift your ranges you have to be stopped to shift them. Other than that its a good system other than all the electronics that are on the tractor

Thanks for the answer.

So it's purely electrical, not electric over hydraulic? The GST was purely hydraulic, at least was. The newer models may not be. The New Holland EHSS shuttle shift tractors have electronic solenoids that control hydraulic flow to the clutch packs. I'm using these examples because I've worked on them, I know there are plenty others.

It sounds like the LS is completely electronic actuator controlled. Is that correct? No hydraulics at all?

Yes LS is all electronic for the R series tractors with the EZ shift. The P series is hyd controlled. They are 70+ hp
