Flat tire, now what?

i've used that house foam to foam up a tire on a rolling gate.. worked.. 'ok' not great.. but rolled better than being flat.

Well, the left front tire held up all day after being repaired, then I blew the right front! Goshdarnit! That's three of the four tires. I just need to blow the left rear and I've done all of them. If that wasn't enough, the tractor started sputtering and died and I assumed I was out of fuel. I put some fuel in, and she started up after an extended crank session, but now I'm down on power. I'll change the fuel filter and see if that helps. If not, good gracious I hope it's nothing too difficult to troubleshoot. I am starting to get a little cranky having to work on this old tractor so much. If it's not one thing, it's another. I've also got a few leaks here and there that I'd like to fix but I need to get a few things done first before I take her out of service for a while. I just make sure all fluids are full before I operate. Lord, please just be a fuel filter.

Should I just crack the injector lines? Don't have a manual on this tractor. Tractor will start and run so I'd think it would work the air out itself? I think I'll change the fuel filter just because, then bleed the lines.

You need new tires. your tires are shot, not just "weather-checked" as you first mentioned. Don't be afraid of Chinese tires. They may not last 50 years but will last 20, especially if stored under cover, as all tractors should be.

Are you bush hogging with your new bush hog. If it has sharp bladed that's probably making the tire situation worse. Sharp blades leave sharp sticks, dull blades leave beat up sticks. Small tractor tires aren't much tough than car tires,

Its time for a major investment in either new tires or large quantities of ductape, baling wire, and Fix a Flat. With the failures youre having its pretty obvious that the tire carcass has been badly compromised. Good tires are not fragile. I recommend the Firestone SAT II 23 Super All Traction Lug. Scroll to "Super all Traction II 23° TLR1" [page 9]

They have them in 8 Ply. They have a flat tread profile almost like tracks.

Your fuel issue should work out by itself after the filter change. A dollup of fuel conditioner couldnt hurt.

I'd even go less tough than a car tire. since at least the car tires are radials.

It's obvious the tires are old and need replaced, and I will, but I am not going to take $1000 worth of new tires through the kind of sticks and limbs that I am driving over right now. I am going to milk these things as long as I can until I get all of the puncture obstacles cleared and burned, then I will replace them.

I had one of the original Bridgestone front tires go south on me on my 1610d so I bought one of those Chinese ones Hoye sells.The first load of roadrock in my fel blew the side out.My local tire guy found me some Firestones ,that was 4yrs ago.I still run one original Bridgestone on the other.Am I wrong ,is'nt Bridgestone Japanese?You can also find tires your size on E-bay....russ
