three point bock hoe questions

i would like to put a 3ph bh on my 600 ford, i am wondering if any one has ever used or owned one , the thing i can't understand is how does the hoe use the weight of the tractor , because my 3ph will not hold and thing down, (what i am saying is that when my 3ph is down i can just lift up the lift arms a little). sorry for the what must look like drunk rambelings but i can't think of a better way to asklol.

I have a Ford 1720 with a brush hog hoe mounted on the 3PH. The 3PH lever must be locked so it can not be moved, or something will get broken. I have over 1000Hrs on the hoe.
It has been some what reliable with the exception of a broken bracket from time to time. I would go with a sub frame mount if at all possible.

There is usually bracing (at least on mine) from the "top link" portion down to the arms which prevent the arms from raising. On mine it will raise to level and that is it. My owners manual says to leave the position lever down, but that is resting the weight of the backhoe on the top link. Mine has extra brackets in that area, but I still raise the 3 pt arms to the point where it is supporting the hoe also and then lock the lever in place.
