Guys, I always though albino deer were simply a Urban Legend, and then I snapped this picture with my Droid camera yesterday....

Actually, my brother cleaned out this storage unit he had purchased after a successful bid, and among the scrap wood was this pair of home made and unique deer...we set them up out back about 50 feet from the blind my neighbors had set up, I texted them: "Don't shoot Bambi, he is the one with the big rack, but Rudolf is fair game." They thought the joke was really funny.

Albino deer genetics exist in this area. Every few (deer) generations, albino deer are seen in specific areas not far from here.

We have a similar set. I hate the darn things, I'm had to move them a hundred times.

We had TWIN Albino bucks in our area but they did not make it through last winter. :( I don't know if they were hunted or if the coyotes got them. They were amazing to see at night deep in the woods. They looked like wood spirits. Unfortunately, they stood out like a light which I am sure made them easy prey for both four and two footed critters. The does kicked the bucks out of the doe herd which forced the bucks to move into an area that was not as safe from predators. The last time I saw one of the bucks, he was in our front yard after the does had kicked him out of the herd.

I started a thread last year about the twins, http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/rural-living/265673-albino-twin-buck-tales.html, and there are some photos I managed to get of the bucks.

Later,
Dan
