Well, we are almost ready to pour cement. We were able to avoid a 4-5 day delay because we have a very nice inspector. Tomorrow I should have pictures of a cement pad. You can see my whole write up here if you are intereste, Almost Ready to Pour, and an Almost Delay | homesteaddad

All good. Are the county folks having to take days off because of a budget shortfall? If so, that stinks. Look forward to more pictures.

I believe so. From what I have been told, they may go off furlough next year. They actually have quite a few construction jobs in our county, but are working their employees hard. Should have some pictures of cement tomorrow.

We got everything poured today. We also helped a neighbor track down a deer that ran across our property. We even managed to improve a few shooting lanes for one of our tree stands. The whole right up is found here, Concrete Poured, Deer Found, and Lots of Pictures! | homesteaddad

It's looking good. Nice deer too. At least you know there is wildlife on your place. What we did for the ruts was bring in a load of dirt and smooth it out with the tractor. My land is sandy and there were deep ruts in the yard when we built. Keep up the good work.

What does the county require for rebar and slab depth if any?

No requirement. With 48 piers at 18"+ holding up a slab that is 4"+ we should be more than good.

Got word from the gas planner that the pipe running from the street to the current meter can handle 1.5 million cubic feet. So we just need to replace the current meter. For the same price we could up the capacity to a 650k unit or 1.5 mil unit. So I decided to go with the larger meter. Hopefully this future proofs us.
