Thanks for sharing Paul, I don't get on here much lately so I'm a little behind in my reading. Take this episode as a another lesson in life, they are all good in a way to help you somewhere down the road deal with lifes obstacles. I'm responding because I have softened considerably over the past severals years, it must come with age. I've had my share lately as well and i'm learning to dwell on the good more than the bad to help move forward in life. Keep up the great work and posts.

Paul,

Been traveling a bit for work, so just catching up on your post here. Given your generous spirit (as displayed regularly here on TBN), I don't believe that your experience was just a coincidence. Call it fate, faith, providence, karma or whatever you want - that man was destined to come by your shop and not even a torn up driveway and 600' walk was going to sway him! Thanks for sharing this experience and reminding all of us that we all have the ability to touch someone's life in a positive way if we only stay open to the opportunities.

In regards to your comment on still figuring out why you're here (on this earth), I'm sure that many of us could chime in on how you've had a positive influence on us. Keep doing what you do.

God Bless,

Thomas

Thanks guys. I appreciate it but I really only wanted to tell the story to show us that there are others out there with far more serious problems than a lot of us have and I got to see that first hand with this situation. I was upset because my business was basically shut down for three days due to the road work then to have a guy walk the 600 feet up to my shop in that condition was jaw dropping. Anyone of us here would have done the same thing and I truly believe that but from now on when I start to complain to myself I'll reflect back to this experience.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the fresh perspective and reminder that no matter how bad a problem seems subjectively, objectively, someone else somewhere is dealing with a significantly harder problem.

God bless him, and you and yours,
Thomas

Thanks Steve. I'm much like you I guess. It could be age related but it could be we are getting a little wiser. Either way my friend it's a good thing no matter how it happened.
Thanks for commenting. Great to hear your perspective on this sort of thing.

I figured you were busy. I haven't seen any mods from you lately. I don't mind traveling as long as I'm home in the evening :)

Thank you for your perspective on this topic and I really appreciate your kind words. I guess everything happens for a reason and maybe in time it will become clearer but then again it might not have anything to do with me but more for the gentleman that needed my help. Either way it worked out for him and that's all that really matters. Don't forget about my offer. If you need my help send a pm and we'll make it happen.
Great hearing from you my friend.

Thank you sir. I'm so happy that others such as yourself got something out of this. I'm to the point now that when I see someone in a bad mood I just say to myself " Maybe they got troubles no one knows about". It's a rapidly changing world but we have to remember that we all need to put more effort in caring about others.
Thanks for posting.

I'll remember your post for a long time. My Father passed away last month of cancer , and hopefully you brought this wonderful man peace in his life. Thank You.
