It better be or I am in a heap-o-trouble! Mostly it is for fun but no reason I can't plow & grade driveway.

Care will be needed not to tear something up.

I would be interested in hearing, what kind of work are others doing with a V8 8N?

Will the tractor be usable with the 302?

with that statement.. I'd have a spare tranny input shaft, pto and axle setting in t he barn waiting to be installed....

I'm pretty sure such components are not designed purely based on the HP input. Wouldn't they be designed based on the loads expected during normal usage? If so, I'll bet the drive line components are beefier than those of any old Mustang. Only guessing here.

I am guessing you are right. Look at the loads put on many old tractors at the pulls. If common sense prevails, plus I use my seat belt, ROPS and wheelie bars, I should be fine and so should the tractor. If I go full throttle, dump the clutch, get the rear end hoppin', then I would expect trouble. Any one with experience on this?

i would not assume that..
the 8n and naa and 600 series drivelines are smaller than the 8xx drivelines.. the 8n thru 600 have less then 40 hp engines. the 8xx can approach 50 belt. the axle size up was needed. The pto shift wasn't changed.. so one can assume it's fine up pas that hp range.

One thing that may save him is the light weight of the 8N. Hopefully it will spin before it breaks something.
