I stumbled across this thread kinda late, I think. I hunt a good bit. I guess you could say that it is a way of life and a part of just being outdoor oriented. But it's not the hunting that is important. It is being with friends and doing things together. I try to be out messing around in the woods doing something at least one day a week. Africa is on my list, too. I've lived in Alaska and loved it, too. I like it all...from cutting firewood, to hunting, trapping and chasing hogs, coon hunting, messing around with friends, cookouts and planting. Hunting is just a part of the big picture...

Yup. That's what my dad always says. Doesn't matter if you kill anything it's being out there and enjoying nature and good times with good friends. The bag of ducks was just a bonus. They did make the bourbon taste just a little bit better that day though. ;-)

Yes, I guess you could say I hunt. I've taken over 30 species of big game on 4 different continents. Hunted birds all over N. America. Fished too, saltwater and fresh. Now its all about getting my 11 year old out there and doing it. I get more thrill out of taking him than anything. Its all about the experience. "The process is the goal" I always say.

I've hunted Mexico, Canada, South Africa, Botswana, Spain, New Zealand, and although its in the US, Hawaii. I've seen that you are a DSC show attendee. I used to be really active in HSC and went to all the shows. Now that I have a son, we are sticking local for the time being.

Hey Tom,
Who did you hunt with in Africa? We'll be at DSC in January and might book something for this year. If not, next year for sure. Kind of wanting Karen to finish her PhD first. I talked to some guys about Ibex in Spain, but really want one from Russia first.
