Is there a special trick to it...it says just lift up and down , but seems very hard to do so????

It helps if you move a little bit. Engaging is usually pretty trouble free, disengaging some times I back up a little or turn the wheels left and right. What kind of trouble are you having?
I have never noticed it being any worse than anything other 4WD vehicle.

It is brand new give it some time to loosen up and as Arlen mentions a slight movement will help. This is true for the range selector too.

This on a 3320, so yours may be different. I let off on the eHydro pedal, make sure the front wheels are pointing straight - engage or disengage. Works while still moving, but have only tried in maybe 1-3 mph range - not fast.

It works much better if the tractor is not on a hard surface - blacktop or concrete, otherwise there can be a tendency to bind up.

If It does bind up, I like to pick the front wheels off the ground with the loader. Then it will slide in and out easily.

Or when going slow, tap the throttle in a quick accel/decel fashion as you work the lever and the 4wd usually slips right out when when it's goes through that moment when it's not binding in either direction- like butter.

I generally will change directions briefly (forward or reverse)... since I might not have the loader attached.
