Any Ideas as to getting a set of stainless pins made for snow pusher for anti wear , rust and strength properties? They'd be 1 1/4" in diameter. Already have them-got them for free

Forget the stainless. There are far stronger and far more wear resistant options out there than stainless. And if you keep things greased properly, rust isnt a concern, so no need for stainless.

Call a local machine shop or steel supplier and see what they carry and suggest to use.

The reason pins are not stainless is because you want the pins to wear, rather than egg out the holes. Much easier to replace a pin than repair egg shaped holes. Giv it some thought.

Great point.

I needed a tapered pin so I could more easily align the ripper and bucket when I switch them out on my back hoe. I just measured the diameter of the factory pin and went to a metal shop to buy the right length piece of mild steel round stock which was then tapered. Works fine. Spray it with PBblaster if you want to keep the ends rust free but the business part of the pin will stay clean if greased.
