I was out Christmas shopping with the family and at the local flea market I noticed new and used tractor equipment. They had new 4 ft brush cutters for 450 and 5 ft for 550. These were no name so I would assume cheap Chinese made equipment. Since I own a bx25d what is everyone's opinion on buying one for cutting brush like once or twice a year. Also they had some new 3 point scrapers for 125.

No name = no reputation (speaking for myself) to form a reasonable opinion.
You pay your money and you take your chances.
If the gearbox blows up, who you gonna call?
I have had mixed results in this kind of transaction.
Some have been great - some ... not so good.
You are really casting dice, so spend only what you are willing to write off as a complete loss if it goes badly.
If it means either having a brush cutter or not, then you have to make that call.

Go on Craigslist or tractorhouse and find a used brand name cutter for the same money or less. It'll outlast your tractor.

Should be fine for occassional use with your tractor.

Buy the 4', not the 5'.

Lubricate all Zerks each use and pay attention to the gearbox seals. Do not operate the mower without adequate lubrication.

Also don't forget to put gear oil in the bush hog gear box. They don't normally come with oil in them.

I would go for it if the price is 50% of another branded version of likely the same piece of equipment.
It could be chancy on a no name brand but also if Chinese made, it could be the same manufacturer as many other locally sold brands. Lots of Chinese made equipment including gear boxes on the "USA made" brands. Gear box is about the only wearable item on a bush hog that is expensive to replace and most of them now days are Chinese.

I see you are from Alabama. What part? LMC makes some good stuff and it's cheap and you can easily get parts.
